Our Journey
HEMA GROUP's entrepreneurial roots trace back to 1968, when G. Lakshmi Pathi Reddy established Hema Foundry at the Anantapur Industrial Estate. Building on this industrial heritage, the Group expanded into Africa in 2006 under brothers Mr. Hari Kishore Reddy Gavireddygari and Mr. Uma Maheswar Reddy Gavireddygari.

The journey began with ceramic jars and pottery wheels at Hema Foundry. In 1980, the business moved into stone-processing machinery, establishing an engineering legacy that grew through Hema Industries in 1994 and Meghana Engineering Industries in 1996. These businesses remain in operation and have supplied more than 10,000 stone-processing machines across India.
From industrial manufacturing in India to consumer businesses across Africa, the enterprise evolved into a diversified family business built around entrepreneurship, technology, long-term thinking and responsible growth. Expansion into Africa began with mineral-water manufacturing in Uganda in 2006, followed by beverages, FMCG and agribusiness across multiple African markets.
Across every sector and geography, HEMA GROUP continues to build with a long-term perspective—combining entrepreneurial ambition with disciplined execution. Guided by enduring family values, the Group remains focused on creating responsible enterprises that contribute meaningfully to the communities and markets they serve.
